When a deployer uses a high-risk Annex III system to make a decision that carries legal weight or otherwise seriously affects a person's health, safety or fundamental rights, that person may ask the deployer for a clear account of the system's role and the decision's main reasons. Systems used for critical infrastructure are excluded. The right applies only where Union law does not already provide it, and Union or national law may set exceptions or restrictions.
