Where an AI system is based on a general-purpose AI model and both are developed by the same provider, the AI Office holds the full powers of a market surveillance authority over that system. National authorities must cooperate with the AI Office when checking general-purpose systems usable for high-risk purposes. If an authority cannot obtain needed model information despite genuine effort, it may ask the AI Office, which must supply relevant details within thirty days, subject to confidentiality.
