Each Member State must establish or designate at least one notifying authority and one market surveillance authority, acting independently and impartially, and name one market surveillance authority as its single point of contact. Contact details were to be public by 2 August 2025. These authorities need adequate technical, financial and human resources, with staff skilled in AI, data, cybersecurity, fundamental rights and safety. One body may hold several roles if independence is preserved.
