PLAIN-LANGUAGE SUMMARY — ORIGINAL INTERPRETATION, NOT THE OFFICIAL TEXT

The Commission builds Union expertise and capacity on AI through the AI Office, which leads work on general-purpose AI models and supports coherent application of the AI Act. Member States must help the Office carry out the tasks the Regulation assigns it. The Office is a Commission structure rather than a separate agency, and its detailed powers appear across other provisions rather than being set out in full here.
