PLAIN-LANGUAGE SUMMARY — ORIGINAL INTERPRETATION, NOT THE OFFICIAL TEXT

Providers of general-purpose AI models must maintain technical documentation, give downstream developers the information needed to integrate the model responsibly, put in place a policy respecting EU copyright including reservations of rights, and publish a summary of the training content. The documentation and downstream-information duties fall away for genuinely open-source models, though not where the model carries systemic risk. Providers may rely on codes of practice or harmonised standards to show compliance.
