Article 3 — Definitions

This article fixes the vocabulary used throughout the Act, defining terms such as AI system, provider, deployer, risk, biometric identification, general-purpose AI model and serious incident. These definitions decide who carries which duties and when a practice falls within scope, so classification and enforcement turn on them. The definitions themselves impose no obligation; their effect is felt through the articles that rely on them.
