COMPETENT AUTHORITY

ANCOM proposed as MSA and SPOC; ADR as notifying authority

A government memorandum adopted on 12 March 2026 sets out Romania's institutional framework, naming ANCOM as market-surveillance authority and single national point of contact, and the Authority for the Digitalisation of Romania as notifying authority. Sectoral duties fall to the Labour Inspectorate, ANMDMR for medical devices and others, supported by DNSC on cybersecurity. The framework is a memorandum, not yet binding legislation, and Romania is not on the Commission's notified list.

Member States designate their notifying authority and market-surveillance authority under Article 70; the Commission publishes the consolidated single-point-of-contact list. Designation across the Union remains uneven — we track each state's status rather than presenting a uniform picture that does not exist.
