COMPETENT AUTHORITY

Traficom (coordinating MSA) within a decentralised sectoral model

Finland's implementing legislation (Law 1377/2025) entered into force on 1 January 2026, appointing the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom) as coordinating market-surveillance authority alongside existing sectoral regulators including the Energy Authority and the Finnish Medicines Agency. Notifying authorities include the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Traficom, the Finnish Medicines Agency and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.

Member States designate their notifying authority and market-surveillance authority under Article 70; the Commission publishes the consolidated single-point-of-contact list. Designation across the Union remains uneven — we track each state's status rather than presenting a uniform picture that does not exist.
